Fortum-Rusnano fund greenlights 100-MW wind project in Russia

The Fortum-Rusnano wind investment fund has taken the investment decision to build a 100-MW wind park in Russia, it announced on Friday.
The fund expects this wind farm to begin production in the first half of 2020.

Fortum-Rusnano is a 50/50 partnership between Finnish utility Fortum Oyj (HEL:FORTUM) and Russian nanotechnology company Rusnano. It won 1,823 MW of wind power capacity in the country’s wind auctions held this and last year. These projects will benefit from a guaranteed CSA price corresponding to between RUB 7,000 (USD 105/EUR 93) per MWh and RUB 8,000/MWh for a period of 15 years.

In October, the fund took the investment decision for a 200-MW wind project, having already chosen to proceed with a 50-MW scheme. Completion for the smaller wind park is scheduled for the first half of 2019, while the larger one is expected to go online in the first half of 2020.
