Azot branch of Uralchem in Berezniki is poised to invest about 2BN RUB in the equipment revamp and repair in 2018
Azot branch of Uralchem (Berezniki, Perm territory) intends to spend approximately 2bn RUB on the modernisation of keynote operating units and a repair campaign in 2018.
In particular, the ammonia facility modernisation programme in section 1А stipulates for the retrofit of surface vacuum capacitor and the acquisition and installation of air coolers and an absorber. This will ensure manufacture stability, higher product output, and lower gas consumption. The company’s budget allocated for these goals accounts for 235.1m RUB.
Besides, the ammonia section 1B will host the revamp of automatic control system and retrofit of compressor turbine speed regulator system. As a result, the core facilities at the enterprise will be raised to a higher automation technology level. These objectives will require 242m RUB.
As reported by Alexander Isachenkov, Lead Engineer, this project manifests a new turn in the facility control mode and has a fundamental effect on key section’s resilient and faultless operation.
The soft nitric acid section (N5) will feature installation of a U-type titanium cooling condenser 51.5m RUB worth. Moreover, the company plans reconstruction of a unit starting motor power layout in this section. The enterprise will assign 31m RUB on these activities.
The rest of investment will be allocated for the revamp of other equipment and a repair campaign.
From 2007 onwards, the overall enterprise modernisation and revamp investment has exceeded 15bn RUB. The rate of production has grown by 32%, totalling 2258 mtpa in 2017.
Azot branch of Uralchem in Berezniki manufactures ammonia, ammonia nitrate, urea, sodium and potassium nitrate, and crystalline sodium nitrate.
Uralchem assets include Azot branch in Berezniki, PMU branch (former Perm Mineral Fertilizers) in Perm, KCKK branch (Kirovo-Chepetsk Chemical Combine), and Voskresensk Mineral Fertilizers.
