Transportation, storage and transshipment of crude oil, liquefied gases and oil products - Oil TERMINAL 2009 - IV International Congress
26-27 November 2009, Saint-Petersburg, Russia
PROGRAMME 2009:
1. International Congress
2. Exhibition on technology and equipment "Tank Farms and Oil Terminals"
3. International Award Ceremony "Oil Terminal 2009"
4. Visit to Peterburg Oil Terminal - 28 November 2009
The Congress has earned a reputation in the field of business as the best source of information about transport routes for the development of directions for exports, the solution of logistical problems in connection with the storage and handling of oil and liquefied hydrocarbon gasses, the sharing of experience among representatives of port service authorities and oil terminals in European and CIS countries.
This event will cover new development and expansion projects at Russian terminals, and pipeline and rail routes, as well as providing a broad overview of European best practice in the development of oil hubs (Hamburg, Antwerp, Amsterdam, Rotterdam), and in designing new export routes and attracting investments in port capacity improvement. The congress will also help find solutions to the logistical issues of crude oil, liquefied gas and oil products storage and transshipment.
A special focus will be placed on the commercial and technological issues of tank farm and terminal operation. Topics covered will include investments in oil terminals, designing and financing the construction of tank farms, terminals and loading / offloading racks, appraisal of a project’s prospects, as well as the latest technology and know-how of safe transportation and terminals operation.
The Congress will include an exhibition of ports / terminals, technologies and equipment – the Tank Farms and Terminals. This will be an ideal opportunity to showcase your services / equipment or the development plans for your port or terminal, as well as to find new partners, customers, investors or contractors. You will be able to participate in the Congress and the exhibition with your own display/marketing material.
Oil Terminal International Ceremony
The real ‘gem’ of the event is the Oil Terminal international contest, where celebrated international experts will evaluate the successes and achievements of oil terminals in various categories. In 2007, 45 of the largest terminals of the CIS and European countries participated in the Oil Terminal contest. More than 20 of the best Russian terminals were nominated, and many of them were awarded best terminal in their category. Winning the contest is an achievement valued by market participants, making the winning terminals proud of their accomplishments.
Technical visit to Petersburg Oil Terminal will take place on 28 of November 2009 (Saturday).
JSC "Petersburg Oil Terminal" operates the largest Russian terminal for oil products in the Baltic Sea region. Petersburg Oil Terminal (POT) provides the services of transshipment and storage of oil products for export, as well as bunkering vessels. The Terminal complex is equipped to accept delivery of both clean and dirty oil products, including high viscosity fuel oil. The annual throughput capacity of the terminal is 12 million tons. Oil products are delivered to the terminal by rail, pipeline and by water. Loading is to sea vessels and road transport. JSC "Petersburg Oil Terminal" is in the process of a successful expansion program. The Program envisages construction on a stage-by-stage basis and continuously bringing new production capacities and implementation of innovative technologies. Three stages have already been completed at a total cost of USD 130 million. The realization of these four stages included the construction and putting into operation of the key facilities of the complex's infrastructure and technological know-how. One more stage of construction are planned, the completion of which will bring the annual capacity of POT up to 15 million tons of oil products. The volume of the total investment will be appr. USD 160 million.
Please be aware that you will receive notification of the departure time for the bus and other details on 28 November 2009 in the delegate’s reminder notice. The approximate return time from the terminal to the city centre is 14:00. Due to security reasons we ask you to have your passports with you during the visit. Only those on the list of advanced registered delegates will be admitted to the terminal. The deadline for submission of delegate registrations for the visit is 10 November 2009.
